Four LeT, JeM terrorists killled in encounters in J&K

Four local terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad terror outfits were eliminated by the joint team of security forces  without suffering any collateral damages in two separate encounters in Shopian and Tral area of Awantipora  on Saturday.

Around 185 terrorists have been eliminated this year in counter terrorist operations.

According to police the terrorists killed in Chowgam area of Shopian have been identified as Sajad Ahmad Chak son of Bashir Ahmad Chak resident of Braripora, Shopian and Raja Basit Yaqoob son of Mohd Yaqoob Najar resident of Achan Litter, Pulwama. Both the slain terrorists were categorized terrorists linked with Lashkar-e- Taiba. They were also involved in several terror crime cases. Besides, the killed terrorist Sajad was also instrumental in motivating & recruiting the youth to join terror folds, a polcie statement said.

Security forces also recovered 02 AK series rifles, 4 AK Magazines and 32 rounds from the encounter site.

Meanwhile, in a separate encounter in Hardumir, Tral area of Awantipora two more terrorists were eliminated by the security forces. Till the time of filing the reports the security forces were still ascertaining their real identities. Unconfirmed reports, however, claimed the two terrorists killed in the operation too were local youth.

One of them was an active member of JeM terror outfit while his associate was an active member of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind outfit since 2017.
