Delhi reported 135 fresh cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the last 24 hours with seven more succumbing to the infection.
According to data shared by the health department, the positivity rate dipped to 0.18 per cent.
With 135 new cases, the total number of active cases in the city reached to 2,372 of which 668 are in home isolation, according to the official data shared by the health department.
According to the bulletin, the city has reported more than 14 lakh cases till now. A total of 75687 tests, including 53942 RT-PCR tests, were conducted a day ago, the bulletin stated.
In order to deal with the “possible” third wave of Covid-19, the Delhi Government has speeded up revamping several existing hospitals to increase the number of beds and also building new hospitals.
Delhi has received vaccine stocks for youth two days back and the speed of vaccination in the city has increased, AAP leader Atishi said while sharing the vaccination bulletin on Thursday.
“On 17th June, 89,962 doses were administered. Out of which 60,393 were first doses and 29,569 were second doses.
The total vaccines administered in Delhi have reached 63,48,920 and 15,36,174 people have been administered both doses. For 45 plus, 8,65,000 doses of vaccines are currently available in Delhi. At least1.5 lakh doses of Covishield for 45 plus were supplied to Delhi on Thursday. For 18-44, stocks of five days of Covaxin and 9 days of Covishield are available,” she added.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had also announced plans to create a buffer stock of important medicines besides other initiatives to deal with the ‘possible’ further outbreak.
