2 naxalites carrying reward of Rs 8L each  gunned down in MP

A special team of Special Operation Group Hawkforce and district police force Manlda shot down two Naxalites carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh each on their head, one of the Naxalite was female.

After receiving information on February 12, regarding presence of 12-13 armed uniformed Naxalites of the banned Communist Party of India Maoist organization in the forest area of Lalpur village under the Motinala police station area , a special team of Special Operation Group Hawkforce and District Force was dispatched from Police Station Motinala immediately to the spot.The team laid sieged the forest area of Lalpur on the night of 12–13 February. The Naxals, after finding the intensifying the siege, fired indiscriminately at the police, the team warned  Naxals to surrender. Despite the warning, the indiscriminate firing by the Naxalites with the intention of killing the police party and in the ambush Naxalites were shot down.

After the firing stopped, search operation was carried out by the police force and which the bodies of a male Naxalite and a female Naxalite were found. Male Naxalites were identified as Area Committee Member Dulla alias Manu Dakshin Bastar of Vistar Platoon 03 and Female Naxalite as Geeta Dakshin Bastar, Area Committee Member of Vistar Platoon 03.

Both the Naxalites were having reward of Rs 3 lakh each by the Madhya Pradesh government  and Rs 8 lakh each by the Chhattisgarh government. From the spot police have also recovered 303 rifles, 313 rifles, 315 bore rifles, Naxal literature, daily use material and other Naxalite materials.

Under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police Balaghat Zone KP Kateswara Rao, the Mandla Police has achieved remarkable success.
