40-yr-old man dies, wife injured after speeding vehicle hits their bike

A 40-year-old man died while his wife escaped with injuries after the bike was hit by a speeding vehicle near culvert at Airport overbridge in the morning on Wednesday.

The deceased identified as Jagdish Sen was mowed down by speeding vehicle after their bike was hit from behind while his wife Hemlata escaped with injuries. The injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital man was declared dead while woman escaped with injuries.

After the preliminary investigation body was sent for the post mortem. Police have registered a case under section 304A of the IPC. The errant vehicle driver escaped the spot and is still unidentified, deceased was a resident of Ahmedpur Sehore.

Police said that the statements of the injured wife are yet to be recorded which could help in revealing more details. Her condition is critical and is undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man on Tuesday died who was electrocuted on April 8 after he came into contact with live wires while working at Sanjay Nagar under Nishatpura police station area, police have started investigation.

According to police, the deceased Suresh Malviya was electrocuted while he was working to repair electrical circuit and sustained severe burn injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment on Tuesday. After the preliminary investigation, the body was sent for post-mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the IPC.
