Odisha’s Bishnu Charan Patnaik has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the LIC of India.
Son of late Satcidananda Patnaik and late Snehalata Patnaik, Bishnu Charan Patnaik hails from Bhaliakhai village near Bhanjanagar of Ganjam district. He was a meritorious student throughout his academic career and represented his high school in football, cricket and athletics.
Patnaik studied at the Laxmidhar Municipal High School in Dhenkanal and thereafter completed his graduation from the BJB College, Bhubaneswar. He is a postgraduate in Political Science from the Utkal University.He joined the LIC of India in 1986 as a direct recruit Class-1 officer in the Bhadrak Branch. He has also served as Senior Branch Manager, Raj Bhavan Branch, Bhubaneswar and Senior Divisional Manager, Berhampur Division. He has a customer-centric approach and is always concerned about the wellbeing of employees and agents.
