Keonjhar hilly village gets piped water

Sunday, 21 February 2021 | PNS | KEONJHAR

Around 200 households of Pidhapokhari village located atop the Malangtoli hills  in Joda block were living in miserable conditions due to lack of pure drinking water. The forest dwellers who were consuming water from stream flowing down mountain were suffering from different  diseases throughout the year. However, after Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thackeray came to know of the pathetic situation, he had immediately ordered the RWSS department to supply water  in two  tankers as a temporary measure and then sanctioned Rs 2.68 crore from DMF fund for construction of an overhead tank in the village to draw water by pipe from a natural spring below 300 feet by using solar pump.

After completion of the project recently, the people are living very happily and have expressed their gratitude the district administration of Keonjhar.
