The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Bisleri have come together to educate citizens about the importance of plastic recycling and segregation of plastic at source under ‘Swachha Sarvekshan Abhiyan’.

North Delhi Mayor Jai Prakash informed that the civic body along with Bisleri will implement “Bottles for Change’ program to create awareness among the resident.

“Plastic is thought to be a threat to the environment but in reality it is not If recycled  after its use,” he added.

Deputy Commissioner of Karol Bagh Zone Himanshu Gupta handed over the permission letter to Santosh Darne, a representative of Bisleri for implementing the program in corporation’s geographical areas.

Anjana Ghosh, director (Marketing) of Bisleri International said, “People hate plastic because they are not aware about the feats of recycling. It is a widespread understanding that, plastic adds to the environmental pollution. But, every piece of plastic is recyclable for several times. All we need to do is change our habits and stop treating plastic as a waste.

This program is already implemented in Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and now Delhi will be its new destination.
