Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary will present President's awards to the winners on the occasion of the decoration ceremony of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, 2021 in Lucknow on Friday.
The finance minister will also inaugurate the newly constructed Pratyaksha Kar Bhawan in Lucknow.
In 2017, a memorandum of understanding was signed with M/s NBCC for the construction of the new income tax building and it was handed over in 2020. Built on an area of 86,483 square feet, this new IT office building has seven storeys. The built-up area of one floor is 21,527 square feet and the built-up area for all seven floors is estimated to be 130,000 square feet, of which two basements (car parking and record room) have been built.
This building is estimated to seat 150 officers and 350 employees. Besides, the building also houses a state-of-the-art auditorium with a capacity of 180 persons and three conference rooms. The new building has a guest house comprising two suites for senior officers and nine rooms for other officers as well as a gymnasium, reading lounge and state-of-the-art kitchen on the seventh floor. A large library and creche for the children of women employees has also been made available in the building.
