Sanitation fortnight was observed from 16 to 31 March at Bokaro Steel Plant. During this, various programs related to cleanliness were organized in Bokaro Steel Plant and City, which included cleanliness drive in plant and city, disposal of dry and wet clothes, awareness campaign related to plastic waste, workshop on West to Wealth, Cleanliness Pledge etc.
In the same sequence, on the occasion of the conclusion of the cleanliness fortnight, the old fountain on the side of the plant plaza road of the plant was renovated by internal resources. Cleanliness and house decoration of the area were carried out by the CED department. Executive Director (Works) Atanu Bhowmick inaugurated the fountain and called for making cleanliness a routine. The possibilities of the use of waste from the plant in internal processes and its use as an input material in other industries are constantly being explored by the marketing department.
Under the cleanliness drive, sanitation programs were also organized in various areas of the township under the aegis of the Public Health Department of the town administration.
