Police on Monday detained five persons for allegedly attempting to gang-rape a tribal girl aged about 17 years in a school at Jhumapada village under the Kalinganagar police station in Jajpur district on Sunday night.
The girl sustained injuries when she jumped from the roof of the school building to escape from the clutches of the miscreants. Now, she is battling with life at a hospital at Kalinganagar.
Hearing her brother's screams for help, locals rushed to the spot and informed police. “Police are investigating the case,” said Kalinganagar police station IIC Priyabrata Rout.
