A special campaign is being run by East Central Railway against black marketing of railway tickets and ticket brokers. In this episode, A special raid was conducted against the agents and travel agencies involved in black marketing of railway tickets on September 05 in East Central Railway jurisdiction by the Railway Protection Force. During this campaign, 60 ticket brokers were arrested and legal action was taken against them by registering 55 cases of rail ticket brokerage on September 05. During this, tickets worth lakhs of rupees were also seized from those ticket brokers.
In special raids, 13 cases were registered in Danapur división, in which 17 ticket brokers were arrested. Similarly, in Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Mandal, nine cases were registered and in Dhanbad Mandal seven cases were registered and eight ticket brokers were detained. In this sequence, 16 and 10 cases of rail ticket brokerage were found in Sonpur and Samastipur divisions respectively, in which 16 in Sonpur division and 10 ticket brokers in Samastipur division were arrested and legal action was taken against them.
Among the arrested ticket touts, 16 people are IRCTC authorised agents. Authorized agents have been found. This campaign will be continued by the Railway Protection Force of East Central Railway.
