BJP alleges Govt patronizing corrupt officials

Sunday, 08 May 2022 | PNS | RANCHI

State BJP president and MP Deepak Prakash today made a strong attack on the coalition government. Prakash was addressing a press conference in the context of the Chief Minister's statements on raids conducted by the ED on 25 locations linked to Mining Secretary Pooja Singhal, on Friday in the State.

He said that it is clear from the statement of the Chief Minister that the government and the Chief Minister himself are standing in defense behind the corrupt. He said that the statement of the CM is not only ridiculous but it is going to hurt the sentiments of 3.50 crore people of the State. He said that BJP cannot become a mute spectator to the mineral wealth looted from the State. From House to Road, the party is raising its voice against corruption. If necessary, even going to the court.

Prakash said that Rs 19.36 crore in cash was recovered in Friday's raid. It is also reported that documents of property worth Rs 150 crore have also been recovered. It was expected that the Chief Minister would thank the Central government for this campaign against corruption, but it is unfortunate that he stood by corruption.

He described the action of ED as a zero tolerance policy of the Modi government against corruption. He said that this is the first step against corruption in the state. He said that the statements of the ruling party JMM and the Chief Minister in anger are contradictory. The party is justifying the action while the Chief Minister is finding all this gimmicky.

He said that the reason is clear that the matter pertains to the Mines Secretary and the Minister of Mines Department is the Chief Minister himself.

Requesting the ED to widen the scope of investigation, Prakash said that many district mining officers are involved in looting the mineral resources of the State. These officers pass on illegally earned money to an illegal place, which should be thoroughly investigated.

Prakash said that without the protection of the government, there can be no loot of mineral wealth. Illegal mining and smuggling of coal, sand, stone chips from the State should be investigated. By which it will be proved that who are the politicians, officials and police officers involved in this loot.

Attacking the Congress party, Deepak Prakash said that the Congress party is an equal partner in the increasing corruption in the State. Whenever the government of UPA parties, Congress, JMM, RJD has been formed, the scale of corruption has increased. The people of the State have not forgotten Madhu Koda's government. The Congress party sucked up the honey and gave up on whipping. The UPA regime has a long history of corruption at the Center and in the State. If Congress does not change its character, then the public will expose their face again.

He said that the government has nothing to do with the people of the State. The Chief Minister should resign on moral grounds. Along with this, a CBI inquiry should be recommended for the entire matter.

Media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak and spokesperson Avinesh Kumar Singh were also present in the press conference.
