The Chhattisgarh cabinet on Tuesday approved a special incentive package for ‘Electric Vehicle and Lithium Ion Batteries Sector’ under the Industrial Policy 2019-24.

A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel decided to approve the special incentive for electric vehicles and production of batteries as it would encourage establishment of large, mega and ultra-mega industries in the state.

It was decided to give a special investment incentive package for the ‘Jute Bag Manufacturing Project’ in view of the requirement of a large quantity of jute bags in paddy procurement.

To promote entrepreneurship among other backward classes, the cabinet approved the draft of amendment in the Industrial Policy, where 10 percent plots will be reserved in industrial areas for the people belonging to the OBC section.

The plots will be provided at the rate of 10 percent of the land premium rate and at the rate of 1 percent land rent.

Under the Kaushalya Matritva Yojna (Women), approval was given to identify the eligible beneficiaries in the socio-economic census and to provide them one-time financial aid of Rs. 5,000 on the birth of a second girl child.

As per earlier announcement, the cabinet gave the go ahead to procure Kodo, Kutki and Ragi at minimum support price through the Primary Forest Produce Cooperative Society.

The cabinet decided, under the fifth schedule, that the recruitment of vacancies of Grade III and IV posts at district and division level of Bastar and Surguja divisions be extended till December 31, 2023.

The cabinet also approved the ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club scheme’. It was decided to impose a cess amount for the financial funding of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission and Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club Scheme.

The cess will be charged on the transfer of vacant land and land for agricultural purposes, taken by way of sale, gift or lease of 30 years or more or as mortgage.
