The second leg of the Chhattisgarhia Olympics, organized for the protection and promotion of traditional sports in Chhattisgarh, commenced here on Wednesday.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister and In-charge of the district Ravindra Choubey inaugurated the district level competition at Subhash Stadium.
On the occasion, Choubey said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has tried to save the traditional sports of Chhattisgarh through this event.
He said the success of the event is evident by the participation of children, youth and elders in large numbers in every village. This is a very happy moment for the people of Chhattisgarh.
The Chhattisgarhia Olympics have been going on from October 6.
The entire district has been divided into six zones for players from different zones. The winners in the zonal games are getting a chance to take part in the district level competition.
