Excise deptt acts against bootlegging

On the instructions of Indore collector Manish Singh and guidance of assistant commissioner excise Indore Raj Narayan Soni, the Indore excise department in a major action seized 7 luxury cars and one auto illegally transporting the boxes of foreign and country made liquor on the new year.

Total 335 boxes of liquor were seized carrying 600 bulk liters of liquor. The case of excise act 34(1) and 34(2) was registered on more than 11 accused. The four-wheeler confiscated included 2 swift dzire car, 1 ford icon, 1 Mahindra pick up, 1 indica, 1 Innova and 1 auto rickshaw.

The cost of total liquor confiscated is around 53 lakhs and the cost of total four-wheeler confiscated is around 60 lakhs. Excise controller Indore Rajeev Dwivedi, ADEO K K Vishwakarma, S I Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, S I Sunil Malviya, S I BD Ahirwar, SI Lakshmi Kant Ramtake, SI Shalini Singh were the part of the trap team. The accused with illegal liquor and four wheelers were arrested at Hatod, Piplyakumar village at bypass road, different parts of Indore main city, Rau Tejaji nagar road, Bilawali pond, Jeet nagar and E C farms.
