Haryana signs Framework for Collaboration with Uzbekistan to strengthen cooperation

To strengthen and develop close cooperation and exchange between Haryana and Fergana of Uzbekistan, the Government of Haryana and the Government of Uzbekistan on Thursday signed the Framework for Collaboration (FFC). The aim for the FFC is based on the desire to improve mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Uzbekistan and India. The FFC was signed by Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department (FCD), Haryana Yogender Chaudhary and Ikboljon Ergashev, Deputy Governor of the Fergana region, Republic of Uzbekistan, said the Government official spokesperson. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has constituted the Department of Foreign Cooperation with a view to make Haryana a global identity and to establish Haryana as a preferred destination for investors.

The spokesperson said that the FFC covers broad areas of work that will help build collaboration between Fergana and Haryana through collaborative efforts in the field of automobile, pharmaceuticals, trade, science, education, tourism, culture, protection and research of historical monuments, skill development, and vocational education. The Foreign Cooperation Department through its “Go-Global Approach” is continuously working for the Socio-Economic development with mutual understandings and cooperation at various levels, he added. “The signing of the Framework for Collaboration is a step forward in realizing and implementing the vision of Chief Minister of Haryana to make Haryana a predominate and leading State in sectors such as automobile, education, skill development, trade and investment and facilitating exchange programs between both the regions for mutual economic and socio-economic growth and benefit”, said Yogender Choudhary.

The meeting was held today at the Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi and is a step forward to discuss the way forward for collaboration identified areas and sectors in the FFC that can be undertaken by both the regions. The meeting was facilitated by the Resident Commissioner of Haryana; Sanjay Joon and the high-level delegation from Fergana consisting of Ikboljon Ergashev, Deputy Governor of the Fergana region, ImomSalimov, Counselor, Embassy of Uzbekistan in India and A’zamjon Mansurov, First Secretary,  Embassy of Uzbekistan in India. The meeting was joined by Director General FCD Sh. Anant Prakash Pandey and Advisor, Pawan Choudhary.
