In Madhya Pradesh, the tussle between the mayoral candidates of the municipal corporation has started after the announcement of candidates by BJP and Congress. BJP has surprised everyone this time by not giving tickets to the known faces.

Vibha Patel is once again the candidate of mayor from Congress in Bhopal. Once she was defeated by Krishna Gaur. Malti Rai, who has been a councillor, will be contesting against Vibha Patel, who is the mayor's candidate of BJP.

During the finalisation of BJP candidate, the name of MLA Krishna Gaur also came up as the mayoral candidate, but due to being an MLA, the consensus could not be reached. This time BJP has given a big chance to Malti Rai at councillor level.

She was the councilor of Ashoka Garden from 2004 to 2009. At the same time, she was also the zone president. She is said to be close to the CM as well as Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang.
