JMM claims 16 BJP MLAs in touch with party

Saturday, 27 August 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

The leading party of the ruling coalition in the State, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), on Friday, created a sensation by claiming to be in touch with 16 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs. JMM Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya has said that 16 BJP MLAs are in touch with the party.

Reacting strongly to this claim of JMM, BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that there is no political correctness in JMM. He said that forgetting political dignity, JMM has now come down on horse trading.

Bhattacharya said that Godda MP Nishikant Dubey is BJP's Bhasmasur and there is anger among BJP MLAs because of them. He said that Dubey, who came from Bihar and did the politics of Deoghar, is fluent in the politics of the State and writing unnecessary things in social media is one of his habits. After the meeting of the Grand Alliance at the Chief Minister's residence, Bhattacharya said that the Government is stable and we are intact. “We have the support of 50 people and all the MLAs of JMM, Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal attended the meeting,” he added.

Replying to a question he said that we have all sat in the bus  and will see you again in the evening. When asked whether the MLAs have been asked to attend the CMO in the morning and evening, he said that attendance is not to be made.

The party Spokesperson said that in today's meeting all the MLAs showed solidarity. “Leaders of all parties said that no conspiracy of BJP will be allowed to succeed here. There was no strategy. Strategy is built on the floor. We will meet again. All the MLAs will stay at their respective homes. No one has been given any directions,” he added.

When asked whether the MLAs would go to Chhattisgarh, he said, does anyone leave Jharkhand and go to Chhattisgarh? When asked what would be the JMM's strategy on the Governor's decision, Bhattacharya said that let the Governor's decision come first.

Terming Bhattacharya’s claim as a mere political stunt, BJP State Spokesperson, Pratul Shahdeo said that history is a witness that BJP MLAs have never broken and will never break. He said that the history of JMM has been of selling and buying and they should first take a look at their history. He said that the BJP had complained about the office of profit against Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. “After this the Election Commission heard the entire matter and submitted the report to the Governor. Now the Governor's decision is awaited. BJP has never talked about toppling the Government,” he added.
