Nishad heaps praise on Modi for NDA’s win in UP elections

Sunday, 13 March 2022 | PNS | Lucknow

Nishad Party president Dr Sanjay Kumar Nishad heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the win of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the recently-concluded UP Assembly elections and stressed that his party would accept any role given by the BJP in the state.

The NISHAD Party contested on a total of 15 seats, including five seats on which its candidates contested on BJP’s symbol, and won a total of 11 seats.

Addressing mediapersons in Lucknow on Saturday, Nishad said that his party candidates won seats which the poll pundits had predicted that they would lose. “Our alliance with the BJP is rock solid and is not going to break at any point of time,” he said.

The Nishad Party chief said that the people chose the NDA putting an end to negative politics, dynastic rule, casteism and politics of muscle power in the election.

“Poll pundits were saying there was no tsunami due to the Prime Minister's popularity and his ability to deliver good governance. But now they have realised that the PM is not the leader of our country but he is one of the most popular leaders across the world. The NDA government under his leadership is right on the path of establishing 'Ram Rajya' and making India as ‘Vishwa Guru’,” he said.

Nishad congratulated the party leaders, Apna Dal leaders, BJP leaders for the emphatic win, the Election Commission and the police for conducting the polls peacefully and also the public for putting their trust in the BJP and its allies.

“I was often asked as to why I accepted tickets for seats which were nearly invincible in view of the existing political equations. The Nishad Party is ever ready to take a challenge head on and strictly believes in hard work. The result is before all of us,” he said.

Nishad further said that party candidate Ketaki Singh trounced Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhary in the latter’s terrain while Dr Asim Kumar defeated state Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu.

“Ramesh Singh routed Lalai Yadav at Sahaganj seat which was said to be a pocket borough of Yadavs for the last 20 years,” he said.

Nishad further pointed out that party candidate Rishi Tripathi defeated Amar Mani Tripathi from Nautanwa seat while Piyush Nishad won Karchana seat, hitherto the bastion of SP leader Kunawar Rewati Raman Singh.
