Policy of minority appeasement responsible for extremist violence- BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party has said that the Pradesh Congress Committee president has made an irresponsible statement bereft of facts by blaming the BJP for the brutal murder of a citizen in Udaipur. The BJP said the actual reason behind the brutal murders in Udaipur, Amravati and other places is the Congress policy of Muslim appeasement. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan alleged that since independence, the Congress has been protecting religious fanatics and their extremist ideology under its policy of minority appeasement. It is known to all that in places where the Congress is in power, the police-administration ignore the communal activities of a particular community. “During the term of the Gehlot government, members of one side have caused communal disturbance on various occasions in Rajasthan but no action was taken against them due to vote-bank politics. The murder of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur was a similar case. The Rajasthan police had arrested him for a social media post and even when he received threats the police made Kanhaiya Lal reach a settlement under pressure with those threatening him instead of arresting those who issued the threats. Lal had to pay with his life for the Gehlot government’s policy of covering the actions of extremists and fear of displeasing the minority. Similarly, when a man was brutally murdered at Amravati in Maharashtra for a post supporting Nupur Sharma, the coalition government involving Congress was in power which tried to conceal the reality behind the crime,” said Chauhan. He alleged that due to the actions of extremists of a particular community being covered for fear of displeasing voters of a minority community, incidents of violence against Hindus have increased in States governed by the Congress and other opposition parties.
