Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Wednesday said that the state Finance Department has released funds amounting to Rs 646 crore for major schemes. Now, there was no pendency under any Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) or its respective state’s share with the Treasury after the release of Rs 345 crore on Wednesday to this effect. He also directed the concerned departments to utilize these funds in a time-bound manner rather than waiting for the end of the financial year. Any lapse of funds due to non-utilization shall be viewed serious by the Department of Finance, he added.
