Rs 98,000 cheated in name of providing Covid compensation

Cyber crime Bhopal arrested three accused involved in cheating Rs 98,810  in the name of giving Covid compensation amount, accused used bank accounts and SIM cards of other states.

The accused used to commit fraud by sending QR code in the name of document verification, GST charge, account opening, income tax etc.

They would make a hut in the fields outside the village and commit the fraud.

The team of Cyber crime branch Bhopal nabbed the accused who cheated the victim of Rs.98,810 in the name of giving covid compensation money.

A complaint was submitted by Sunil Kumar Lodhi lodged complaint that his younger brother Rajesh Lodhi had died during the Covid period, for whose compensation amount he had applied and received a call from unknown mobile number 9630047108 and asked to send the Covid compensation amount immediately and after verifying the documents, QR from unknown phone-pay number 8085190060 victim provided Rs 98,810 and was cheated online.

On the basis of the complaint, a police registered case under section 419, 420 of the IPC against the users of the bank account and mobile number was registered.

The accused make calls in the name of providing the Covid compensation  amount, and send the QR code in the name of document verification, GST charge, account opening, income tax etc. in various installments in the accounts of fraud. Then transfer money to other accounts and withdraw it. The accused use bank accounts and SIM cards of other states to commit fraud.

Three Android mobile phones, one key-paid mobile phone, five SIM cards and other documents have been confiscated from the three accused. Rajendra alias Ghanendra Yadav, Hukum Yadav and Bharat alias Kalute Yadav were arrested.
