The Regional Office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Monday predicted that the maximum temperature is likely to be 42 degrees C or more at several places in the districts of interior Odisha during the next five days.
However, several districts would continue to experience thunderstorms in the next couple of days. A Yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning has also been issued by the IMD.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40 to50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
Hailstorms are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, and Koraput. Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Baleswar, Bhadrak and Balangir on Tuesday.
Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, and Kandhamal on Wednesday.
On Thursday, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40 to50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati and Ganjam.
On Friday, thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar, said the IMD, issuing an Yellow warning.
