Khajuri Sadak police have arrested an auto driver who robbed a 20-year-old married woman of her mobile phone and assaulted her at Fanda toll plaza on Monday.
On Monday Varsha Bharti of Sehore lodged a complaint against an auto rickshaw driver of auto rickshaw bearing vehicle registration number MP04RA2023 who robbed and assaulted her.
She boarded auto rickshaw from Sehore to Bhopal and when the vehicle reached near Fanda toll plaza he snatched mobile phone from her and pushed her off the vehicle injuring her in her head and hands.
Before this the accused took information of the victim and revealed his name as Rahul James of Halalpur Lalghati Bhopal.
After the robbery, the accused escaped the spot and the victim reached police station and lodged a complaint against the accused. Based on the complainant police registered a case under section 394 of IPC was established and discussed.
During the investigation, the house of the accused was raided near the cemetery in Halalpur Lalghati Bhopal. The accused was found present at the house and when asked for his name and address, He told his name as Rahul, James, Halalpur Lalghati, Bhopal.
He confessed to the crime and told about snatching a mobile phone from a woman near Bhori jod and hiding his auto behind the Kolukhedi Kalari and hiding the mobile phone in his trunk.
The mobile phone looted by the accused was recovered from the trunk of the auto rickshaw. Auto rickshaw was hidden in Kolukhedi by the accused.
