Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai inaugurated the water carnival at the Boat Club in the presence of District Collector Ashish Singh and Corporation Commissioner KVS Chaudhary on the occasion of Bhopal Gaurav Divas, on Wednesday morning, after the Gaurav race.
Different types of canoeing competitions and water sports activities will be organized in the water carnival.
As a part of the various programs organized under the Bhopal Gaurav Utsav, a Gaurav race was organized from VIP Road Raja Bhoj's statue to Boat Club on Wednesday morning, which was organized by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang and flagged off in the presence of Mayor Malti Rai, former Mayor Alok Sharma and other public representatives and officers.
After the completion of Gaurav Race, Mayor inaugurated the three-day water carnival at Boat Club in the presence of District Collector Ashish Singh and Corporation Commissioner KVS Chaudhary.
On this occasion, Mayor Rai appreciated the spirit of the participants of the pride race and expressed her gratitude for participating in the pride race and urged all the citizens to light lamps or lights at their homes and shops in the evening and at night on the Gaurav Divas.
On the inauguration of the water carnival, Mayor Malti Rai enjoyed boating on a motor boat.
On this occasion, Additional Commissioner MP Singh, Mayor's Council members Ravind Yati, Sushma Babisa and Jagdish Yadav, Zone President Brijula Sachan and other public representatives and dignitaries were present.
