The BJP on Monday charged in the Chhattisgarh Assembly that Congress government had taken up the survey of Bastar’s Bodhghat river valley project but it was not feasible.
BJP legislator Brijmohan Agrawal also alleged that a blacklisted company was given the contract for survey.
The Union government had said the project was not feasible in 2004 itself but the state government was still going to spent Rs 41 crore in the survey, the BJP charged.
Water Resources Minister Ravindra Choubey denied the state government knew the said company had been blacklisted in any other state.
A total of Rs 12.50 crore had been spent on the survey till date, the Minister said.
The Minister admitted the survey work was incomplete and said the deadline for it has now been extended till August 31.
