Effective law and order has made Chhattisgarh a bastion of peace, the government said on Monday.

Determined to achieve the goal of "Gadbo Nava Chhattisgarh", the government has maintained the policy of zero tolerance against crimes for the last five years.

There has been a decline of 40 percent in crimes against women compared to 2015–18.

To curb crime against women, separate women police stations have been established in four districts and women cells function in 455 police stations and outposts.

Naxalite activities have reduced by 52 percent. A total of 314 schools have been renovated and reopened in Naxalite areas. Nealry 590 villages have been freed from violence and terror.

Strict provisions have been included in law to curb online gambling.

The Chhattisgarh Police is conducting a special campaign against narcotics; due to this, drug smuggling has been significantly reduced.

Strict action was taken against fraudulent chit fund companies and recovered money was returned to those who were cheated, the government said.
