The Chhattisgarh government on Friday name Bhilai-based national badminton player Akarshi Kashyap as a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The ace shuttler and the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth silver medalist, Kashyap will be Class-II Gazetted Officer.
She won the gold in the South Asian Games 2019 in Nepal.
Kashyap also won gold medals in U-17 Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament (2017), U-19 All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament (2017), U-19 & U-17 42nd Junior National Badminton Championship (2017), U-17 Indian School Games (2017), Yonex-Sunrise All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament (2018), Yonex Sunrise All India Senior Ranking Tournament (2019), and the Kenya International 2020 events.
