Charred body of a woman found in Bareilly

In a sensational killing in the Shahi police station area of Bareilly, a 35-year-old woman was brutally murdered and her body was later kept in a gunny bag with straw and burnt to destroy evidence.

The incident took place on Saturday night and when the villagers went to the fields on Sunday morning, they saw the charred body. They immediately informed the police after which the body was sent for post-mortem.

The victim was a resident of Gautiya of Kheu village of Shahi area. Her husband claimed that his wife slept with their children on Saturday night, but when he woke up at midnight, she was missing.

He searched for her in the house and its surroundings but couldn’t find her, prompting family members to launch a search.

On Sunday morning, villagers informed about the burning of a woman's body in straw outside the village. The husband reached the spot and identified her.

SP Dehat Mukesh Chandra Mishra, CO Mirganj Deepshikha also reached the spot. The police detained the husband and were grilling him to extract the truth. The woman’s parents, who came to know about the incident, have accused the husband of murdering her. The husband, however, accused a local youth for the murder claiming that he was trying to lure her for a long time. It is being said that the woman had an illicit relationship with the same youth. The police are investigating all angles.

Meanwhile in Deoria district on Sunday morning, a couple died after  a truck hit them. The police took possession of the dead bodies and sent them for postmortem. According to the information, a truck and a scooter collided at around 9 am on Sunday morning on the Kaparwar-Rudrapur road near a brick kiln located in Mahen-Kushamhan of Madanpur police station area.  The police took the truck driver into custody. 

According to reports, Murtaza Ansari (45) of Ramaipur ward in Madanpur and his wife, Shakeena Khatoon, were traveling on a two-wheeler to visit relatives in Kaparwar. An uncontrolled truck, coming from the wrong direction, collided with their scooter in which Shakina died on the spot, while her husband Murtaza was dragged for a considerable distance. A case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
