Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday approved the master plans for redevelopment of three prominent Shakti Pithas -- Kakatpur’s Maa Mangala, Bhusundapur’s Ugra Tara and Banapur’s Maa Bhagawati under the 5T initiative.
The redevelopment works have been entrusted to the Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation (OBCC).
In the Kakatpur Maa Mangala Temple besides laying of khondalite stone, the kitchen and water drainage facilities would be upgraded. The Sevayat Bhawan, Prasad shops, the Mundan kiosk on the bank of Prachi river, would be developed. The work would be completed in 12 months.
The Banapur Maa Bhagawati Pitha’s Parikrama Ghat, roads and river ghat development would be focused in its master plan. The work would be completed in 24 months.
The Busundapur Maa Ugra Tara Temple’s parking, landscaping, picnic spot, opera ground and pond would be renovated. The work would be completed within 18 months.
The CM instructed that the works be completed in the stipulated time.
