DGP addresses 3-day seminar for women cops

Saturday, 18 March 2023 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

While the participation of women in the police department improves the conduct of the police, it plays an effective role in the prevention of crimes against women, DGP Sudhir Saxena said while addressing  through video conferencing on the concluding day of “Phulwari”, a three-day seminar for women police officers and employees organized at PTS Pachmarhi from Police Headquarters, Bhopal.

Congratulating on the successful and well organized event, he said that this seminar will be very useful and relevant for all the participants. The mutual interaction of officers of all levels during the seminar will bring positive changes in your personal and professional life which will help you to become a good police officer.

DGP Saxena said that the participation of women in the police department is very old. First in Britain in 1845, in 1890 in the Chicago Police, then in 1938 in India, women were included in the police force. In Madhya Pradesh, the target of the government is to have at least 33 percent participation of women police personnel in the police force, which we are moving towards achieving. Now we are moving from gender sensitivity to gender equality.

Expecting that “Phulwari” will continue to run successfully like this in future, he appreciated Additional Director General of Police (Training)  Anuradha Shankar and Superintendent of Police PTS Pachmarhi  Nimisha Pandey for such innovation.

Meanwhile two-day "awareness" by Police Headquarters Women's Security Branch, Superintendent of Police of GRP Zone, Nodal Officer of Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the district, Additional Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Women Security and Sub-Inspector and Inspector level officers in charge of Women's Police Station.

Capacity Building Workshop-II on Anti Human Trafficking (Capacity Building Workshop-II on Anti Human Trafficking) workshop is being organized on 20 and 21 March 2023 from 10 am in the new police headquarters, ground floor auditorium.

This workshop will be inaugurated on March 20 at 10 am by Additional Director General of Police Women's Safety Branch Pragya Richa Srivastava. Assistant Inspector General of Police SISF Mr. Virendra Mishra will conduct the workshop, in which National Level Director (Awaaz NGO) Prashant Kumar Dubey, Executive Director (Bachpan Bachao Andolan NGO) and Rakesh Sengar will deliver the lecture.
