Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday accused the BJP of spreading communal hatred because it lacked issues to rake up in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh.
So, it has taken up the issue of religious conversion and was also fanning communal hatred in the state, he told reporters.
Speaking before leaving for Tilda-Nevra, Baghel charged the BJP with creating situations that could lead to riots.
In a recent incident, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) tried to evoke communal hatred while all those booked over religious conversion in Bastar’s Narayanpur were BJP leaders, he said.
The BJP is opposing the enforcement of the National Security Act (NSA) in the state, he said.
At the same time, he said that his government has won the hearts of farmers.
The paddy procurement in the state has risen to 105 lakh tonnes. This was a mere 50 lakh tonnes during the BJP regime.
