The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has directed the District Education Officer (DEO) to take action against a centre superintendent deployed in the HSC examinations for dereliction of duty. The action was sought against the headmaster of Damodarpur Nodal High School, Jamujhadi under Simulia block, Biren Kumar Dutta.
In the centre, while 143 students from two different schools appeared for the SA-2 exams, on the math paper day one answer paper was found missing. Subsequently, it was found that one girl student took the paper to her house. However, she returned the paper to the school and was booked for malpractice. The centre superintendent initially denied such a lapse in his centre and tried to suppress the incident.
He maintained that he had no knowledge of such an incident as the invigilator and deputy superintendent after the exam had informed him that all the answer papers were received. He also mentioned he gave the same reply to a show cause notice issued by the School and Mass Education Department earlier.
Unfortunately, despite his submission, action was taken against him for the failure for which he was not responsible, Dutta lamented.
