Heliport to be set up in Gurugram: Deputy CM

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said that soon a heliport will be set up in Sector-84 of Gurugram and with this heliport, Delhi's air space will get a new option. 

 

He said that Haryana is moving fast in the aviation sector and is also working on several schemes in this regard.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Civil Aviation Department, was presiding over a meeting of officers of Central Government Organization Pawan Hans, Air India, State Aviation Department etc. at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi.

Additional Chief Secretary, Aviation Department, Ankur Gupta also participated in the meeting through video conferencing. Along with this, Advisor of the Civil Aviation Department, Shaleen, Director of Pawan Hans, R.K. Singh, Director of Air India Aviation Training Academy, Sunil Bhaskaran along with representatives and officers of aviation sector organizations were present.

In the meeting, Chautala informed that a heliport will soon be set up in Sector-84 of Gurugram to provide helicopter services to the people of Haryana and NCR and the process is in the final stages. In this meeting, an extensive discussion took place on various topics with the officers of Pawan Hans, a Central Government organization, to set up the heliport.

It was informed in the meeting that a provision has been made to make a terminal for 100 passengers in the heliport to be set up in Gurugram. This heliport, located along the Dwarka Expressway will have various facilities, including hangars, parking to accommodate small and large helicopters and repair facilities, etc.

In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister said that with the construction of this heliport, there will be a reduction in aviation traffic in Delhi and surrounding areas and Delhi's air space will also get a new option. He informed that this heliport will have a runway of 300 meters, 6 landing spots and parking also. He said that this heliport will also facilitate quick landing and takeoff of helicopters. He said that apart from the night facility, other options were also discussed in today's meeting to make this heliport operational 24x7.
