IIA Bhopal celebrates 'World Architecture Day' at Gauhar Mahal

Commemorating the World Architecture Day, The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Bhopal Centre had a grand celebration in the city of lakes at Gauhar Mahal on Sunday with stupendous participation of experts and youth from architecture and design fraternity.

Enthusiastic participation was witnessed in the celebration with an exciting showcase of architectural excellence, creativity, and community engagement.

Notably, World Architecture Day is celebrated globally on the first Monday of October each year, and this year the theme of the program was, "Architecture for a Green Future," that perfectly aligns with the current global emphasis on sustainability and environmental consciousness.

The celebration hosted by IIA Bhopal Centre featured a wide range of activities and highlights, including Architectural Exhibition, Architectural Talks, Design Workshops, Panel Discussions, Community Engagement and networking with fellow professionals.

Ar Akshay Selukar, Chairman, IIA Bhopal Centre enunciated "Let's build a brighter future together! Thus, this year's theme of the World Architecture Day is 'Architecture for a Green Future'.  This special event had an inspiring gathering of architects, designers, and enthusiasts from our community, appreciating the art and science of architecture on World Architecture Day. This year, we focused on the theme 'Architecture for a Green Future' leading to the global emphasis on the environment and its conservation. The valuable thoughts of the renowned architects about paving the way for a greener environment will definitely contribute in creating more sustainable future ahead."

Architect Hemant Vishwakarma, Vice Chairman said "Today is the need of th hour to create urgent awareness on Green Future, thus this year we focused on this theme.  This celebration was aimed to highlight the importance of architecture in developing cities and human settlements."

Architect Mohammed Waseem, Treasurer and Architect Niraj Pahade, Secretary, also shared his valuable thoughts on the World Architecture Day. Various other Executive committee members were also present on the occasion.
