Jhula- A swing throne of Goddess Lakshmi displayed

Under the latest and popular online series of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya entitled ‘Exhibit of the Mahalaxmi Jhula- A swing throne of Goddess Lakshmi   collected from soni communities of Tikamgarh madhya pradesh  in 1998 displayed in the audience as the Third  Exhibit of the month of November 2023 through official website, Facebook, Instagram and twitter page of the IGRMS.

In this regard Dr.Amithabh Pandey,Director,IGRMS said that the Lighting lamps are considered to be extremely auspicious and it is believed to bring prosperity, welfare and positivity in and around us. Deepawali is the festival of light, during this festival goddess Laxmi is worshiped. Maha Laxmi Jhula is a brass made representation of goddess Laxmi sitting on a throned swing which is hanged with the help of a chain from a foliated arch fashioned in the form of peacocks. Two brass made ladies are shown standing on elephants on both sides, holding lamps on their hands and both the elephants in ceremonial finery form the stand. The brass made Maha Laxmi, goddess of wealth symbolizes the prosperity, wealth and fertility that she spreads over the world.
