Maurya: BJP won the semi-finals

Monday, 04 December 2023 | PNS | Lucknow

Bharatiya Janata Party had won the semi-finals ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, said Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya after early trends showed the party leading in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan assembly elections.

“Congress has been wiped out and we are proud that we have won the semi-finals (ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha polls),” Maurya said.

Taking a dig at the grand old party, the deputy chief minister said, “When Congress party loses, it blames EVM (electronic voting machines) and when it wins, it says that BJP’s policies were bad... This is BJP’s vijay yatra. This is the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, of BJP’s ideology and policies,” he said.

“Today we can confidently say that “Bharat ke mann mein Modi hain aur Modi ke mann mein Bharat,” he said.

“Be it Madhya Pradesh where BJP was already ruling and is coming back to power with a grand majority or Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh which the BJP has snatched away from Congress, the blooming of ‘lotus’ means good governance and guarantee of development,” Maurya said.

“People’s faith in Congress has finished. Public has given a befitting reply to ‘Chunavi Ram Bhakt’ and ‘Chunavi Hindu’,” the BJP leader said.

Speaking about BJP’s performance in Telangana assembly election, where Congress is leading, Maurya said, “I had said that as far as Telangana is concerned, we will give the party’s best performance ever. We can proudly say that we have given a historic performance in the state election.”
