Women self-help groups of Kalpataru Multi-utility Centre at Serikhedi in Raipur are involved in making bakery items from millets.

The group has been doing this for the last three years. The items are made from ragi, kodo, kutki, bajara, mushroom powder, drumstick powder, oats, choco chips and more based on demand, an official communication said on Tuesday.

Jai Maa Vaishnav Devi group linked member Priya Jangade said linking with the RIPA has opened a new source of income. The women in the group are also involved in the manufacture of tree guards and LED bulbs.

C-Mart, Chhattisgarh Sanjeevani, Haat Bazaars and fairs are used to sell the products. The Forest Department also provides major orders. Each member earns around Rs 6,000 per month.
