With an aim to provide medical help easily to elderly people, Helpage India launched a mobile medical unit here on Thursday. The State programme manager of Helpage India Krishna Avtar informed that the organization aims to serve elderly individuals by deploying this mobile medical unit in the slums and old age homes of Dehradun City. The unit will consist of MBBS doctors, pharmacists, community mobilizers, and social security officers, who will visit 20 selected areas to provide primary health services, free medicine, and conduct haemoglobin and sugar tests. Apart from this, these professionals will also raise awareness among the elderly about the significance of health, he added.
