In a move to eradicate the question mark on school education in the Country, taking the matter seriously, the Ministry of Education, Government of India decided to convert the ideal school into reality. Under this, PM Shi schools will be opened across the Country. Under this scheme, there is a plan to open at least one PM Shree School in every block of the Country by the year 2024. The good news is that a PM Shree school will be opened in Jharkhand as well.
The initiative is being taken by the state government towards signing an MoU with the Central Government. Other states have already taken initiative on this but no decision was taken in this matter in Jharkhand. Last month, Union Minister of State for Education, Annapurna Devi had also held a meeting regarding this. She had expressed her disappointment in the meeting held with the education officials of Jharkhand. Instructions were also given to send your consent to MHRD to take advantage of this scheme as soon as possible. The department has started the process of MoU only after her saying. Government schools are to be included in this scheme.
If the schools want to take advantage of this scheme, then they will have to apply online by visiting the official web portal of PM Shree. There will be a three stage selection process. Education officers of the Central and State Government will participate in it. Money will be sent directly to the schools through DBT funding. School Education and Literacy Secretary, K Ravi Kumar has said that the process of signing the MoU is going on and soon it will be completed. After that the schools will be selected, he added.
Seventy Five per cent of the total amount will be given by the Center for the development of these schools. In which 1000 students will study.
According to the Ministry of Education, in this scheme, only schools selected from different blocks of the Country will be converted into PM Shree schools, but all the recommendations of the new National Education Policy will be followed. These schools will be equipped with all necessary facilities. Teachers will be appointed to teach in the local language. In the first phase, about 15,500 thousand schools will be prepared under this scheme. These schools will act as role models for all PM Shree schools in the states. The Ministry of Education has asked these schools to keep the teacher-student ratio excellent along with new technology like computers and Atal Tinkering Lab as well as infrastructure.
