Woman Maoist with Rs 5 Lakh bounty surrenders in Sukma

A woman Naxalite carrying a bounty of Rs 5 lakhs on her head on Thursday surrendered to security forces in Sukma district in Chhattisgarh.

Santo alias Rame was impressed with the police rehabilitation drive, Sukma Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma said.

She was the Local Gurrellia Squad (LGS) Commander in the Aamdai Area Committee in the East Bastar Division of the outlawed Maoist outfit, the officer said.

She joined the Maoist outfit in 2003 and was involved in several Naxal incidents in Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts.
