Confluence of social service with spirituality

Spirituality, culture and social service converge with the right people at helm

Rarely do we witness a convergence of spirituality, service, and culture for the betterment of humanity. However, as they say, there is always a time for everything. Such a convergence of spiritual heads on a single platform is even rarer. The Geet Bhakti Amrit Mahotsave, a spiritual extravaganza, saw the esteemed presence of spiritual gurus and intellectuals like Swami Shri Govind Dev Giriji Maharaj, Sri Sri Ravishankar, Sudhanshuji Maharaj, Shrimati Rajshreeji Birla, Sadhvi Ritambharaji, Respected Shri Chinna Jiyar Swamiji Maharaj, and Baba Satyanarayanji Maurya. Notably, Baba Ramdev and Yogi Adityanath  are to grace the occasion.

Geeta Bhakti Amrit Mahotsava stands as a unique amalgamation of spirituality, rich Indian culture, patriotism, and devotion. The event witnessed the divine spectacle of an 81 Kundiya Mahayagya performed by 2500 Vedic acharyas, alongside Harikirtan, constant chanting of sacred scriptures, and Bhagwat Katha. Over 450 artists showcased Mahanatya performances on the epic Ramayana and the tradition of Indian saints. This spiritual festival pays tribute to the divine Vedic heritage, rich Indian culture, and devotion.

What distinguishes this event is its strong emphasis on social causes. The Geeta Pariwar organised the Matrishakti Conference to underscore the significance of women in society and our fundamental responsibility to respect and empower them. The conference witnessed insightful deliberations on women's empowerment. The Baghwad Katha commenced with the resonating chants of "Shri Ram Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram," uniting all present at the Geeta Bhakti Amrit Mahotsava in Devachi Alandi.

Twelve women achievers from diverse fields, dedicated to the social upliftment and empowerment of society, were honored during the event. Govind Girji Maharaj remarked, “Today, as we honor these twelve remarkable women, let us recognise their valuable efforts and unwavering commitment to the welfare of society, reflecting the essence of our cultural legacy.”

Sharing his thoughts, Sri Sri Ravishankar stated, “You have united the saint community of Bharat through knowledge, and this knowledge is none other than that of the divine Lord Krishna. Your celebration, the Geeta Bhakti Amrit Mahotsav, is not a coincidence but a divine arrangement.”  Devotees immersed themselves in the soul-stirring chants of the Bhagwad Gita path which was a essential part of the Geet Bhakti Amrit Mahotsav. An enlightening Dnyaneshwaropasna session took place, where Govind Girji Maharaj imparted profound knowledge to his disciples by venerating Jnaneshwar Mauli and reflecting upon his teachings. A positive atmosphere enveloped the event as the rich Guru-shishya tradition was revived through Vedshastra Samvad. Vedic scholars from across the nation emphasized the significance of spreading wisdom through this age-old tradition.

The spiritual event was graced by the esteemed presence of revered spiritual guides and intellectuals, including luminaries such as Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Swami Vijayendra Saraswati Ji Maharaj and Anandamurti Guru Ma. Govind Girji Maharaj expressed, “The Geeta Bhakti Amrit Mahotsava has been a journey of spiritual awakening and enlightenment. It's an honor to witness the divine teachings of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita in the land of Alandi.” He further noted the intellectual wisdom of Shri Dhirendrakrishna Shastri Ji Maharaj and the universal appeal of such spiritual knowledge among the youth, evident in the enthusiastic following of devotees.
