65.40 per cent voters cast vote in 6th phase: K Ravi Kumar

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), K Ravi Kumar held a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan on Sunday. During this, Kumar informed that the voting percentage in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 was 65.40.

On the occasion Kumar said that this figure will increase slightly after counting of postal ballots on the counting day. He said that all the EVMs have been sealed in the strong room after scrutiny and the strongroom is under the surveillance of CCTV cameras under three-tier security. He said that the sixth phase of voting was peaceful.

 The Chief Electoral Officer while briefing about Lok Sabha constituency wise figure said that in Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency maximum 67.68 percent voters have exercised their franchise. “Here 67.87 percent male voters and 67.49 percent female voters have cast their votes. Male voters voted 0.38 percent more than women,” he added.

Kumar said that in Ranchi parliamentary constituency 65.36 percent voters have exercised their franchise. “Here male voters voted 65.53 percent and female voters voted 65.20 percent. In this way, male voters voted 0.33 percent more than female voters. In Giridih parliamentary constituency 67.23 percent voters have exercised their franchise. Here, female voters have voted more than male voters. Here male voters voted 65.00 percent and female voters voted 69.60 percent. In this way, women voted 4.60 percent more than male voters,” he added.

The Chief Electoral Officer also said that in Dhanbad parliamentary constituency 62.06 percent voters have exercised their franchise. “Here too, female voters have voted more than male voters. Here male voters voted 61.82 percent and female voters voted 62.33 percent. In this way, women voted 0.51 percent more than male voters,” he added.


He said that since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, illegal materials and cash worth more than Rs 129 crore have been seized in Jharkhand.
