Delhi BJP on Friday claimed the AAP is scared of losing majority in Delhi following some MLAs leaving the party and said it was therefore alleging that President’s rule may be imposed.
Making this assertion, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said Arvind Kejriwal has started feeling the impact of the Delhi High Court’s rebuke, and minister Atishi has started feeling the impact of the defamation notice from Delhi BJP.
On Friday, she left aside her old fabricated story of operation lotus on the AAP and has woven a new story of President Rule imposition in Delhi, he charged.
Atishi has said that President Rule is likely to be imposed in Delhi and Sachdeva said it is surprising how the fear of President Rule is haunting the 62 MLA party.
Delhi BJP President said Atishi should explain whether majority of her party MLAs are leaving the party because of which government fears loosing majority.
Sachdeva said it is true that after 2013, Arvind Kejriwal’s government has been formed twice in Delhi, but during this time, the people of Delhi have given BJP a big lead in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the 2017 municipal elections.
It would not be an exaggeration to say the same people of Delhi who elected Arvind Kejriwal’s government with a huge majority twice in the Delhi government also gave full support to Narendra Modi for the central government, he said.
Delhi BJP President said Atishi is raising the issue of President’s rule at the behest of Kejriwal and it is just an attempt to intimidate her MLAs and keep them united.
It would be better if Kejriwal resigns - hand over the government to a new Chief Minister and let the administration of Delhi run, Sachdeva said.
