Anganwadi Workers’ remuneration hiked

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday decided to hike the monthly remuneration of Anganwadi Workers and their assistants. The remuneration was increased to Rs 10,000 from the existing Rs 7,500.

The remuneration of Mini-Anganwadi Workers was hiked to Rs 7,250 from Rs 5,375. The remuneration of Anganwadi Assistants was raised to Rs 5,000 from Rs 3,750

The remuneration hike would be implemented retrospectively from October 1, 2023. As many as 1.48 lakh Anganwadi Workers, Mini-Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Assistants would be benefited.

The government would incur an additional expenditure of Rs 350 crore for the purpose.

The arrears for four months would be deposited in the beneficiaries’ bank accounts between March 5 and 10.

The Anganwadi Workers would get an incentive of Rs 1 lakh at the time of their superannuation. The Mini-Anganwadi Workers would get Rs 75,000. The Anganwadi Workers would get Rs 50,000 as incentive under the Exit Policy.

The Anganwadi Workers and their assistants would get compensation of Rs 2 lakh in case of accidental death or permanent disability. They would be provided with compensation of Rs 1 lakh for partial disability caused due to mishaps.
