Anti-drug campaign launched in Garhwa

On the instructions of Jhalasa Ranchi and  on the directions of PDJ cum District Legal Services Authority Chairman Rajesh Sharan Singh and Secretary Ravi Chaudhary, a drug eradication campaign was run in Garhwa. Under this campaign people are being made aware at all public places including schools, bus stands, railway stations in Garhwa to prevent children below 18 years of age from consuming drugs.

Under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority Garhwa, a program was organized on Monday in Sadar Hospital regarding the campaign for drug eradication. Civil Surgeon Dr. Ashok Kumar was present as the chief guest on the occasion.

In the program, the Civil Surgeon said that the main role in keeping children away from drugs is of their parents. We need to keep an eye on our children. Whereas even if we know that a child is consuming drugs or he is working as a puppet of a drug peddler, then it is our responsibility to bring him on the right path. For this, he will be sent to the de-addiction center for counseling.  If needed, people who consume drugs are also treated with medicines. He said that at present a drug de-addiction center is running in Medinirai Medical College Hospital, Palamu. Many kinds of problems are arising in society due to drug addiction. Marital relations are breaking. Many families are getting ruined due to drug addiction. It is our social responsibility to participate in drug eradication. 

In the program, PLV Murali Shyam Tiwari said that for legal assistance to children who need a drug de-addiction center or medical treatment to get rid of drug addiction, provide information to the District Legal Services Authority through PLV. All possible help will be provided free legal assistance to children addicted to drugs or involved in selling them.

In the program, doctor of Sadar Hospital Garhwa Dr. T Piyush, member of Permanent Lok Adalat Rakesh Kumar Tripathi, advocate Rahul Rishi, secretary of Janak Vikas Dhara Organization Ramashankar Choubey etc. also expressed their views.

 Many people including PLV Umashankar Dwivedi and Sangeeta Sinha, DDM of Health Department Sujit Kumar Munda, Vimlesh Kumar, Sanjay Kumar were present on the occasion.
