BJP amidst people with 10-year report card, Congress allegations baseless: Bhatt

The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the BJP is amidst the people with a report card of its works in the past 10 years. The party does not need to clarify in response to the baseless allegations levelled by the Congress, he said.

On being asked by the media about the allegations levelled by the Congress, Bhatt said that the Congress is asking questions to which the public has either already given the answer or will give it in these Lok Sabha elections. “The BJP is answerable to the public on the promises it had made to the people and its resolve while the Congress is simply abusing the Prime Minister and insulting public mandate. The Congress is indulging in allegations and counter allegations regarding Ankita Bhandari while the people had put the party on the backfoot during its so called Yatra on the issue due to which an embarrassed Congress is levelling baseless allegations on BJP leaders. The people will soon clear this misconception of the Congress because the mind and vote of the people cannot be changed by propaganda,” the BJP State president said.

Bhatt further said that it is laughable that the Congress which is bogged down in scams is now asking about the culprits. Under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, all cases irrespective of the time period are being probed while the strictest anti-copying law in the nation was also enacted. The interests of the unemployed have been secured now but the Congress appeared standing with the corrupt at this time. The Congress remained silent on the major scams which took place during its term in office, he said. “Uttarakhand is progressing in all spheres. Under PM Narendra Modi’s guidance, projects worth more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore are underway in the State with assistance from the Centre. The PM assured the public gathering in Rudrapur that the development achieved in 10 years is only a trailer and that a lot more needs to be done. Uttarakhand is surely moving towards becoming a model State,” Bhatt averred.
