Thursday, 14 March 2024 | PNS | Chandigarh

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced its first list of candidates for Haryana for the Lok Sabha polls. Out of 10, names of six candidates were announced.

Former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has been given the Lok Sabha ticket from Karnal Constituency. Khattar resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Haryana on Tuesday. After this, he also resigned from the Karnal Assembly on Wednesday itself. BJP had won all the 10 parliamentary seats of Haryana in 2019.

Ambala Lok Sabha seat is vacant after the death of MP Rattan Lal Kataria last year. His wife Banto Kataria has been given ticket from Ambala Constituency. Rao Inderjit Singh, who is currently the MP, has got a ticket from the same Gurugram constituency. Ashok Tanwar, who recently joined BJP from AAP, has been given ticket from Sirsa.

Krisan Pal Gurjar, who is also current MP from Faridabad, has been given ticket from the same constituency. Dharamveer Singh will contest election from Mahendragarh-Bhiwani Lok Sabha Constituency. Lok Sabha tickets have not yet been announced from Hisar, Kurukshetra, Sonepat and Rohtak. It is expected that the candidates of these four Lok Sabha constituencies will be announced in the third list of the BJP.
