BJP questions JMM’s silence on Saddam's arrest and theft at record room

Wednesday, 10 April 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev today hit back at the press conference of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and said that its leaders and spokespersons share the knowledge of the world. But, today when the people who prepared fake documents in the 8.86 acre benami land case related to Hemant Soren, when Saddam was arrested, the entire party went silent.

He said that a few days ago, a large number of thefts of Khatian and register 2 were reported from the record room located in the High Security Zone. JMM remained silent on that issue also. Pratul said that even when asked, JMM leaders are not reacting to Saddam's arrest. He said that prima facie it appears that there are links to the theft that took place in the record room before Saddam's arrest.

Pratul said that it is said that when the ED raided the house of Bhanu Pratap and Saddam Hussain on April 13, 2023, the details of exchange of cash transactions, fake deeds, overwriting were found in the diaries from both their houses. Deeds etc were recovered. Pratul said that it was also alleged that Saddam Hussain was one of the masterminds of the fake deed of 8.86 acres of land owned by Hemant Soren. At that time, it was also reported that a large number of fake documents were recovered from Saddam Hussain which directly linked him to the 8.86 acre property of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

He said that today the court has also given the remand of Saddam Hussain to ED and it is expected that more secrets of the property worth Rs 8.86 crore grabbed by Hemant Soren are going to be revealed. Pratul wanted to know from the government whether the theft in the record room before Saddam's arrest was not part of a bigger conspiracy to destroy the evidence?

Pratul said that despite BJP's demand, the state government has not yet recommended a CBI inquiry into the theft in the record room. Whereas at the time of theft, CCTV was off and people came inside without cutting the grill. All this shows that this is an insider job and part of a bigger conspiracy.
