Delhi BJP has condemned the AAP-led MCD for passing an order on the instruction of the party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Mayor Shelly Oberoi prohibiting use of MLA funds on development works in unauthorised colonies and group housing societies.

Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor on Sunday said that Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal is averse to any development work in Delhi’s Unauthorised Colonies & Group Housing Societies after 2022 MCD elections.

Kapoor has said that in 2018 when BJP was in service in MCD at that time Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet had passed a order directing MCD to start development fund in unauthorised colonies & through MLA fund in group housing societies.

In wider public interest BJP administration in MCD accepted the order but once 2022 MCD Election came out wherein AAP did not fair well in wards of unauthorised colonies and group housing societies Kejriwal decided to stop welfare works through MLA funds in these areas and for this Kejriwal and the Mayor have made MCD Addl. Commissioner bring out an order prohibiting MCD from doing development works in unauthorised colonies & group housing societies citing rules not allowing MCD to not to do development works therein.

Delhi BJP Spokesperson has said that it is shocking to note that when BJP was in service in MCD the CM Kejriwal wanted MCD to do development works in unauthorised colonies as well as group housing societies but when he is in power in both Delhi Government and MCD the Additional Commissioner has passed order prohibiting development works in the two areas.
